My ADHD-Approved Favorites (Just in Time for Prime Day)

With Prime Day coming up, I figured it’s the perfect time to share some of my favorite tools that make life with ADHD a little easier, smoother, and more manageable.

These aren’t miracle cures. They’re small things that help support my brain in meaningful ways. If you’ve got ADHD or love someone who does, you might find a gem or two worth grabbing while they’re on sale.

Time Timer

Because “five more minutes” is not a real unit of time.

The Time Timer visually shows how much time is passing, which is essential for ADHD brains that struggle with time blindness. I use it to keep myself from falling into a hyperfocus spiral and to help with transitions.

It’s especially helpful for kids, who can begin to see time rather than just feel it disappearing.

Also? It’s silent. No ticking, no buzzing. Just calm, simple support.

Roomba

I named mine “My Favorite Child.”

Why? Because he works quietly and only complains when he’s stuck in a cord. He’s reliable, efficient, and doesn’t talk back.

With a golden retriever who sheds like it’s his job and hardwood floors throughout the house, this little robot vacuum saves me time and mental energy. If I had to vacuum regularly, I’d probably just end up staring at dog-hair tumbleweeds in defeat.

This lets me get on with my day while the cleaning happens in the background.

Echo Smart Speaker (in the bathroom)

This is the one I use the most.

It’s where I offload shower thoughts, set reminders, build grocery lists, and keep track of all the little things I’d otherwise forget.

Alexa is my morning executive assistant. I can ask for the weather, listen to the news, or toss out a to-do list before I’m even fully awake. It's one of my favorite ADHD workarounds for managing ideas in the moment.

Five minutes a week gives me peace of mind for the next seven days.

I load up my meds and supplements (thanks, perimenopause) so I don’t have to wonder if I already took something. There’s nothing worse than sitting there thinking, “Did I take that Adderall?” and realizing that guessing wrong might end with heart palpitations or an unplanned all-nighter.

This simple tool keeps me consistent and safe. And it frees up brain space I’d rather use elsewhere.

Leuchtturm Notebook

My messy, scribbly bullet journal.

I love bullet journaling, but mine’s not the aesthetic Instagram kind. It’s a chaotic stream-of-consciousness space where I dump every idea, project, reminder, or thought spiral in my head. And that’s exactly what makes it work.

Externalizing thoughts is huge for ADHD brains. This notebook helps me stop carrying everything around in my head and start making sense of what actually matters.

Mindsight Breathing Buddha

A tiny, glowing reminder to breathe.

This little tool helps me regulate my nervous system throughout the day. It glows in a slow pattern that guides breathing exercises like 4-7-8, box breathing, or balanced breath. You just follow the colors to inhale, hold, and exhale.

It’s especially helpful if you’re someone who struggles to close your eyes during meditation. It’s great for visual learners, kids, anxious brains, and anyone who needs a little support with calming down or winding down.

It sits on my desk as a quiet prompt to pause and reset.

These are some of my most-used tools that actually make a difference in how I function and feel. None of them are perfect, but each one makes life a little easier—and when you live with ADHD, that counts for a lot.
